Hepler (1913-1993) earned a B.S. from Shippensburg State Teachers College (Pa.) (1935), and a M.A. (1937) and Ph. D. (1944) from Peabody College. He was a professor of English at Central Michigan University (CMU), 1947-1976, and served as chair of the English Dept., 1958-1968. After retiring, Hepler worked as a free lance writer. Copies of three of his books are in the CMU libraries. (Information from the collection.).
