Daniel Mulford (1781-1811) was born in New Providence, New Jersey and graduated from Yale University. He came to Georgia for his health, arriving in Milledgeville in November 1808. He studied law with his friend, John Fitch, in Milledgeville and with John M. Berrien in Savannah, and was admitted to the bar.
