Stephen L. Richards, born in Mendon, Utah, was a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from January 8, 1917, to April 9, 1951. Richards also served as First Counselor in the First Presidency of the church under Church President David O. McKay from April 9, 1951, until his death, May 19, 1959.
