Price, James M. (James Martin), 1825-1899
The Price family was a Quaker family of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area. Philip M. Price and Matilda E. Greentree were married at New Harmony, Indiana, in 1825 but soon became disillusioned with the experimental community and returned to Philadelphia. James M. Price, son of Philip's deceased brother Isaac, was raised by them in an extended family. James married Sarah D. Lightfoot in 1852, and they had seven surviving children. Their sons were prominent architects, and three of the daughters were teachers.
