Kolloen, Erling H., 1904-1995

Norwegian immigrant, of Seattle, Wash.; married Muriel Westcott; worked as a member of the International Longshoremen's Association; collected papers of other family members, including his brother Lawrence Kolloen, a state biologist who died in a plane crash in Alaska in 1954; parents: Hans Eriksen Kolloen (Henry, 1867-1943) and Inga (Sjolseth) Kolloen (d. 1943), residents of Seattle, who joined the gold rush in Alaska in 1898, remaining there until 1903 when they left to visit Norway, returning to Seattle in 1906 where they remained for the rest of their lives. Inga Kolloen's account of their exciting adventure crossing the Chilcoot Pass has been published.
