Nauvoo (Ill.) Recorder
Nauvoo city council passed an ordinance, 17 February 1842, regulating marriages. One section provided for a return to be made to the city recorder by person solemnizing marriage, and the recorder was to record all such marriages. Volume in which these certificates were recorded is cataloged as MS 3444.
