The paper contributes to child poverty measurement in Argentina in the long-term considering regional heterogeneity. Two approaches are followed: poverty line and basic needs methodology. Data comes from the Permanent Household Survey carried out by INDEC. Results show that monetary poverty remained high and with sharp increases in the long term; that deprivations due to unsatisfied needs decreased and finally, that children are the ones mostly exposed to deprivation regardless of the measurement method adopted.
