Washington Jany 20 1825 Dear Sir Having had copies made of the several documents which I sent to the Chairman, in support of the observations &ca sent him, I now enclose those copies to you in the hope that they will facilitate the enquiry in which the committee is engagd. I send to you also a copy, or rather the original draught, of my observations, which were presented to the accounting dept. in 1810. with my account. I believe it to be correct, tho it is possible, that some changes might have been made, in the document presented from this draught. That however may be early ascertaind by a comparison. I am inclind to think that the publication of this, with the exception of the parts, within brackets, may be useful in a general view. very sincerely dear Sir yours James Monroe
