Sherwood Forest Nov. 15. 1849 My Dear Sir; I send you [?] two checks on the Farmers Bank of Richmond. The one for $500, the other for $235, which I hope will reach you safely and in due season. Your last letter was recievd last morning and its enclosure shall be attended to. What if I delayd negociating the new draft for $500 untill you came on, and their [?] all [?] of transmission by mail. The interval is also so small between this and your arrival here, (For I will not abandon the hope of your coming and that speedily) that I incline to the delay. It can be a matter of no great consequence whether the remaining bills of which I know nothing except [?] paid now or a month hence. However your own wishes will be promptly attended to, so that if you are not to be here in a week or ten days, write me. A long letter from Col. David quieted all our solicitude as to both him and Mr. Beekman. They are both well and actively in motion. You have doubtless received full accounts and therefore to dwell upon the content of his letter would be a twice told tale. All are well with us and we are anticipating the arrival of all of you, and shall expect to be informd of the time when, the next mail. Truly Yrs John Tyler Alex Gardiner Esq.
