Albany—Thursday [ante 1853] Dear Madam As I feel a particular interest in your well being, and am anxious to Save you from all Disappointments as far as my ability extends, I take the liberty of Sending you a line on the Subject of Your projected visit to Lebanon—I have Seen many persons just returned thence, who all unite in bitter Complaints respecting the House and its accomodations. Mrs Bloodgood tells me the beds are rocks, the food not eatable and they had no drinks at all. Not a drop of Champaigne in all the house— It is my serious advice therefore that you go immediately to Ulster where I hope Soon to have the felicity of beholding you— We arrived yesterday a little after one Oclock Sarah Continues indisposed and tomorrow we go down the river—With my best Love to Miss Wilson, and respects to Mr Monroe and Praxiteles? I remain your very affectionate Brides Maid Mary L— PS Miss Wilsons brother is not here and Mr Thomson has sent his letter to New York Remembrances to Mid, and keep him strait— P.S. I had Sealed and Sent this to the bar some hours ago my Dear Mrs Monroe, but I hasten to recall it and thank you for your kind letter Delivered by Corpl Galt—To tell you the truth I have done nothing but Sigh ever since I left Balston, and make my self just as unhappy as possible—Tell Mr. W. not to think me ungrateful, as my note to him was written before I received his tender "farewell"— It is very sweet But, as I always say to Mid, actions speak louder than words—Take good Care of the Dear little Soul and pray encourage the old Lady in going to Ulster—I understand his "Oh yes–you know"—perfectly—it is very comprehensive to an initiated ear—I assure you I am very serious in the report I made above respecting Lebanon—you had much better Stay where you are till you go to Ulster—Will you be good enough to write me what day you expect to be there Direct "Rhinebeck, Dutchess County"—Sarah and Margeri Desire their Love and thanks per your inquiry the latter and my Self are going in a few minutes to Mrs Bloodgoods to spend the evening—Miss F- is to be there—my Husband Sends you a hearty Kiss with the promise of Uncle Ben as Soon as he Sees you in his own house—Don't forget us Love to all Ever yours—
