This collection of items could be used in an early American kitchen to make sauerkraut. The small vegetable slicer (far left) would have been used to shred the cabbage. The large crock (middle) and tamp (right) would then be used in making the cabbage into sauerkraut. The cabbage is layered with salt inside the crock and the tamp is then used to press down the cabbage.
