George Parks
George Parks, the first mayor of Grand Haven, elected 1867, settled in Grand Haven in 1844. Captain Parks was County Supervisor and owned the schooner Michigan, which operated as a passenger boat between Grand Rapids and Grand Haven, Michigan. With his son Byron, her built the first steam shingle planing mill in Grand Haven.
