O.G. Dunckel Letter : April 27, 1865

This is a letter from O.G. Dunckel, a Union soldier, to his wife Elizabeth and their children. Dunckel was supposed to start marching that morning, but the order was called off; the rumor of why is that General Johnson surrendered his army to Sherman. He's heard the peace measures are going well, and he hopes to soon come home. He also talks about money he sent home and how to use it.
