MSU graduate and Jackson, Michigan resident Maria Orlowski describes her experiences as one of the "hidden children" or children who survived the Holocaust in Poland in hiding, while their parents and grandparents were killed. She recounts recent efforts to hold reunions of the hidden children in European cities and describes finally accepting her long denied and suppressed Jewish identity. Orlowski also reads a passage from her book, "Trains: A Memoir of a Hidden Childhood During and After World War II", which she published under the pseudonym Miriam Winter.
